ARNA Neighborhood Conference
Development in and around Rockville
September 23, 7:00 pm

ARNA´s next Neighborhood Conference is scheduled for Thursday, Sept. 23, 2004 at 7 pm until 9:30 pm in the Social Hall of the F. Scott Fitzgerald Theater in Civic Center Park at Edmonston Drive and Baltimore Road. The topic will be on "Development in and around Rockville" and will focus on the location and neighborhood impacts of several proposed and approved projects.

The format of this conference will consist of several "cluster stations" and "substations", where projects will be "presented" and discussed. The idea is for residents to have the opportunity to walk around and not only get information about the locations, status and details of each project, but to build relationships with the developer and network with other associations that share interests. Stations will have representatives of the various developers available with maps, site plans, models, etc.

In addition, County and Rockville City planning staff will be available to discuss the applicable developmental review, land use zoning and public notification processes.

Four cluster areas have been chosen with the following projects in mind:

  • Twinbrook/Lower Pike Cluster
    1. Twinbrook Commons (JBG)
    2. Congressional South (Ronald Cohen)
    3. Rollins Ridge (David Draiman)

  • Town Center Cluster

    2. Bank of America/KSI site (KSI)
    3. "The Fitzgerald"/ Rockville Renaissance West/ Regal Cinema site (Akridge)

    2. Fallsgrove (various)
    3. "The Gateway"/Market Square/Choke Cherry (JBG)
