January 22

"Bringing it HOME to Rockville," Development of Neighborhoods in Rockville, 1784-2004. #4 Post-World War II Neighborhoods

We co-sponsored the fourth installment of this lecture series by Peerless Rockville. A well attended and lively open discussion ocurred reflecting on period neighborhood history of the City, highlighting Hungerford, Twinbrook and Rockcrest. Our thanks to the Jeffs on Bowie Rd., who represented Hungerford in the discussion pannel and related wonderful first-hand description of the early years of our neighborhood. Hungerford showcased in Wash. Post article
Our neighborhood was highlighted in a Real Estate section article in the Washington Post.  The Assn. acted as a resource for contacts for the reporter.

September 18 Dedication of Dawson Farm Park Pavillion
The Assoc. supported the City's dedicating a new pavillion, historic markers, artwork and landscaping in Dawson Farm Park. This culminates the effort to address park completion and a cycle of significant maintenance.
October 24 Board of Education, Candidate Forum
We co-sponsored a candidate forum for the 2004 Montogmery County Board of Education election, held at the F. Scott Fitzgerald Theater. All six candidates for the at-large and open district seats responded to questions submitted by the public or posed by attendees.  HCA, President, David Hill, moderated.
