Tennis Court Rules

The tennis courts are primarily for the use of the community. First come, first serve. Play will bc from one hour to the next. Players will occupy the courts for one hour, unless no one is waiting for the second hour. When a court is unoccupied at 15 minutes to the hour, new players may use the court for 1-1/4 hours. Double games will last one hour. Singles players may play doubles the next hour if two new players so invite them, and the new players are correctly in turn (one new player with 3 players from the previous hour may not take precedence over two new players). At least one person who is waiting for a court must be physically present in the immediate vicinity of the courts. The pool and basketball areas are not acceptable. A person not planning to play may not hold the court for someone else. Two players take precedence over one using a court.

• The courts are for tennis only, no other activity. Please no skateboarding, no riding by children on hot wheels, wagons, or bicycles, no rollerblades, NO ANIMALS!!!!

• Wear tennis shoes only.

• Loosen nets when play is done.

• Authorized tennis lessons or tournaments take precedence.

• Adults (18 and over, or adults playing with non-adults take precedence as follows:

DURING PUBLIC SCHOOL YEAR:
WEEKDAYS - after 5:00 PM
WEEKENDS, HOLIDAYS - before noon

ALL OTHER TIMES:
WEEKDAYS - after 4:00 PM
(Authorized children's lessons take precedence between 4:00 PM and 5:00 PM)
WEEKENDS, HOLIDAYS - before 2:00 PM


TENNIS COURT COURTESIES

• Wait quietly. If small children accompany you, they should behave so as not to distract the players.
• When going to the far court, do so quickly and quietly, but never during play on the near court.
• Retrieve balls only when play has stopped.
• Do not ask for extra time.
• Those who dry court should be given extra time and consideration. Do not distract other players. Control your temper and your voice. PLEASE KEEP THE COURTS CLEAN. PICK UP AFTER THE GAME.
