Annual Membership Meeting and Vote on New Bylaws
The Annual Membership Meeting took place on September 23 at 6:30 pm at the Glenview Mansion. The revised bylaws were approved and adopted, board members Joseph Batz and Theodore Reuther were elected for continuing terms of office, and new board members Ying Chen and Sam Choi were elected. It was announced that the new sister match with Jiaxing, China was approved by the Rockville City Mayor and Council and the invitation was accepted by the mayor of Jiaxing.
The 5th Annual Fall Wine Tasting, featuring red wines of Italy, will be held Friday, November 14, 7:30 PM at the Rockville Senior Center. Admission is $25 for RSCC members and $30 for non-members. Light refreshments are served. Join us for a fun evening. For more information, please contact us.
Important News About RSCC Electronic Mailings
Many of our members have been receiving our electronic updates about the activities of the Rockville Sister City Corporation. This helps us stay in touch with our members and keeps you current on activities. We are attempting to convert this to a more efficient system using a Usenet Group, very similar to a listerve. This allows the person who manages the group to send messages easily to the entire group using one e-mail address. Our group is managed through Google Groups under the name of ‘rsccelectronic’.
There is an easy solution, however. Go to http://groups.google.com/group/rsccelectronic and ask to join the group. (See instructions below.) Google will then send the list owner an email requesting approval of your application. If, at any time you wish to unsubscribe or change your e-mail address, our e-mails will contain instructions on how to do this. If you have questions about our usenet group or have any difficulty subscribing, please e-mail tefwright@gmail.com.
