A new slate of officers was duly nominated and elected at this meeting (Click here for more info.)  Reports were given on the status of refuse pick-up (returning to once-a-week pick-up similar to Pilot Study service), zoning ordinance review/update and the City storm water fund.  A resolution declaring the Pilot Study type service (including once-a-week-pick-up) as superior passed unanimously.  A representative of the West End Civic Assoc. also spoke about issues with a proposed new District Courthouse and its site.  A motion supporting the Giant Food site passed by majority vote.  A general discussion of current issues and possible future association initiatives included the status of the Fleet St. Extension, information on the demolition of the old Richard Mont. HS, possible neighborhood action on curtailing unsolicited newspaper delivery, and whether a neighborhood garden at the southern end of Cabin John Parkway was viable.

Our thanks to the Jeffs on Bowie Rd., who represented Hungerford in the discussion pannel and related wonderful first-hand description of the early years of our neighborhood. Peerless Rockville video recorded this session; contact their office (by e-mail) to see a replay or for more information.
