Twinbrook is my home but I will be the voice for all citizens on issues and programs that will improve our City and our quality of life. Let me know if there is anything specific relating to our City or your neighborhood. I will bring these issues forward for Council action and resolution.

Work to relieve vehicular traffic congestion in the City.
Work to promote pedestrian safety throughout Rockville.
Work to promote design and construction of new parking districts and garages.
Work to establish a City-operated shuttle system from the Rockville Metro Station to Rockville businesses.

Work to establish programs designed to help our youth contribute to our community.
Work toward a solution of overcrowded conditions in City Hall.
Work to provide a program, updated daily, on Channel 11 that informs residents of current Rockville news and events.

Biography:

I was born on March 22, 1953 at Suburban Hospital to Audith C. "Fannie" and Harry W. "Bill" Thomas Senior. I have been a resident of Rockville for the majority of my life.

My father worked and lived in Rockville most of his life, until his death in 1991. Fannie resided in Rockville until her death in 2003.

I graduated from Richard Montgomery in 1972. Since graduation I have held positions in the private sector in the chauffeur/limousine industry. I have served as Vice President of the Washington Metropolitan Limousine Association since 1999.

I have one sibling, a sister Sharon, who lives in Ormond Beach, Florida. I have been married for 10 years to Danielle and have three sons (Christopher - 28, William - 18, and Brandon - 14).

I have been a member of the Rockville Volunteer Fire Department since 1971. I have also worked as a volunteer coach and umpire for the City sports programs.

Accomplishments:

Worked with the City to install high-density illumination in the Twinbrook community.
Worked with the City to re-face Rockcrest Community Park basketball courts.
Worked with the City to clean up the CSX Railroad track area.
Worked with Sgt. Walsh (Rockville City Police Department) to restore the green left arrow light from Edmonston Drive to Rockville Pike South.
Reestablished the Neighborhood Watch Program in the Twinbrook/Rockcrest community (after the 1998 drive-by shooting on Lewis Ave). Served as Block Captain for Lewis Avenue.

Ongoing Areas of Concern:

The need to relieve traffic congestion on Edmonston Drive by restricting the left-hand turn onto Edmonston Drive from Veirs Mill Road during the hours of 7:00 am to 9:00 am. This will allow residents of Twinbrook to more safely access Rockville Pike.
Installation of a sound barrier along the CSX Railroad line in the Twinbrook community. (This will be done with the assistance of the Federal and Local governments.)

Reasons for running for the Rockville City Council:

Traffic Congestion:
- Work to relieve congestion on city streets.
Transportation:
- Work for reduced transportation costs for seniors and students.
- Work to establish a City-operated shuttle system from the Rockville Metro Station to Rockville businesses.
Town Center Revitalization:
- Work to bring new businesses and housing to Town Center.
Youth & Recreation:
- Work to establish programs designed to help our youth develop into caring citizens who contribute to our community.
Parking:
- Work to promote the design and construction of new parking districts and garages.
Community Issues:
- Work to involve seniors in mentoring the youth of our community.
- Work to secure affordable housing and reduced fee structure for city utilities and programs for senior citizens.
- Work to provide a program, updated daily, on Channel 11 that is designed to inform residents of current Rockville City news.
- Work to alleviate the overcrowded conditions in City Hall.
